A quiet system is not a bland one. Quiet means you do not have to look at it to work in it. Bland means you do not want to look at it at all. The two get confused because they can share a palette.
The best studio tools I have used were quiet. They kept their opinions to a small number of surfaces and let the work be loud. The worst ones were bland: they had no opinions, so every action felt like a form to fill.
This site is a small experiment in the first without falling into the second. Monochrome, geometric, and slow to move. The details, when they arrive, arrive on purpose.
The test is not what happens when you look at it, but what happens when you use it for an hour and stop noticing it. That is a good system.
