Twenty-five is small enough to feel considered and large enough to reach a room of people. It fits into a numbered certificate that reads well. It fits into a signature that does not run out of patience halfway through.
Ten feels like a stunt. Fifty feels like inventory. A hundred is a poster. The number is not sacred, but 25 has landed in a place I like.
The QR system I have been building has made the edition number easier to defend, because the number is now recorded on both sides of the transaction. The collector holds it, and the studio holds a copy that will not drift.
It is not the number that makes the print rare. It is the willingness to stop.
